What Is Google Adwords?
What is Google Adwords?
Google Adwords is a paid advertising medium offered by the search engine, Google. Adwords offers websites a medium to buy instant traffic where they are only charged when someone “clicks” on their ad alongside Google search engines results or on other ads in Google’s Content Network that displays ads on websites directly.
Pay Per Click Advertising has the advantage of offering highly targeted instant (or near instant) traffic for businesses.
However, according to Google’s own statistics, Adwords only accounts for 4-5% of a web page’s clicks, and many people believe that customers have less trust in sites that they visit through paid sources.
An additional downside to using Pay Per Click advertising is that the competition has become fierce in many areas causing prices to increase, especially for amateur advertisers, as Google rewards the best written and relevant ads with better placement on the website results (which typically results in better click through rates and better buyers) for less money.
Pay Per Click advertising is a bid based process whereby the provider (Google, Yahoo, or who ever) rewards placement according to an unknown formula which consists of (at least) the amount of the bid per click, the relevancy of your website and webpage, the relevancy of your ad to the keyword, and the effectiveness of your ad in producing clicks. It’s also believed that Google’s Adword’s algorithm includes on page considerations that it may have such as your bounce rate.
