What is Google Adwords?

Google Adwords is a paid advertising medium offered by the search engine, Google. Adwords offers websites a medium to buy instant traffic where they are only charged when someone “clicks” on their ad alongside Google search engines results or on other ads in Google’s Content Network that displays ads on websites directly.

Pay Per Click Advertising has the advantage of offering highly targeted instant (or near instant) traffic for businesses.

However, according to Google’s own statistics, Adwords only accounts for 4-5% of a web page’s clicks, and many people believe that customers have less trust in sites that they visit through paid sources.

An additional downside to using Pay Per Click advertising is that the competition has become fierce in many areas causing prices to increase, especially for amateur advertisers, as Google rewards the best written and relevant ads with better placement on the website results (which typically results in better click through rates and better buyers) for less money.

Pay Per Click advertising is a bid based process whereby the provider (Google, Yahoo, or who ever) rewards placement according to an unknown formula which consists of (at least) the amount of the bid per click, the relevancy of your website and webpage, the relevancy of your ad to the keyword, and the effectiveness of your ad in producing clicks. It’s also believed that Google’s Adword’s algorithm includes on page considerations that it may have such as your bounce rate.

Would you like the instant traffic that pay per click advertising can offer? 4ProfitNow can expertly manage a Google Adwords campaign to bring you profitable traffic at an affordable fee plus cost that is usually less than you’d pay for the cost alone if managed yourself. Contact us today and starting making profit this week!

What’s the difference between SEO, SEM, and Internet Marketing?

SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization.” Technically, SEO involves the optimization of your website’s design and programming to communicate well with the Search Engines such as Google and Yahoo.

SEM stands for “Search Engine Marketing,” and was what I consider to be the third phase of search engine marketing (with the first two being SEO, and then spaming the search engines ). SEM includes both SEO and “off site” techniques to build reputation and power with the search engines. Some common tasks involved in SEM include the building and optimization of incoming links from other websites, initial and ongoing keyword research and evaluation and the management of paid internet advertising such as Google Adwords.

Internet Marketing includes a broad spectrum of marketing activities to bring profit to a website, including SEO, SEM, Paid Advertising (including PPC (Pay Per Click), Banner Advertising, Online Press Releases, etc.), Email Marketing, Lead Capture, Social Marketing, and Conversion Optimization.

SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization.”

Technically, SEO involves the optimization of your website’s design and programming to communicate well with the Search Engines such as Google and Yahoo. A very basic level of SEO such as adding a title to your web page is sometimes performed by your website designer, but many website designers do not do any SEO at all.

When the internet was much younger SEO alone could get a web page ranked well for “long tail” (or obscure) keywords because there were so few websites with even a very basic level of SEO. Without any SEO at all, the search engines are reliant upon your content and incoming links (if any) to determine what your website is about, categorize it to logical keywords that people are searching with, and determine if it is popular.

Some common tasks involved in SEO are the design of your internal link structure (how pages link to one another), adjustment and optimization of meta tags, and optimization of page content.

More technical SEO can involve things like page rank sculpting, canonical issues with pages, and link attributes.
SEO may or may not involve keyword research, a vital part of any part of search engine marketing.

A quality keyword research project can take considerable resources (including costly labor and specialized tools). Some companies don’t consider it to be part of SEO, however, the effectiveness of your SEO will be greatly hampered if you’re optimizing your site for the wrong keywords.

Today SEO is an integral part of internet marketing but it’s effectiveness alone is limited to long tail (obscure) keywords with little to no competition, and/or websites that naturally have a high number of incoming links. You may even find it difficult to find your websites domain name in a search with SEO alone. Large and popular companies like Target or Walmart typically limit their search engine marketing to SEO as their sites have enormous reputation and power with the search engines,(naturally) have little need for SEM, and therefore concentrate their efforts on SEO to funnel the power and reputation they already have.
